ATA loves leather. We're smitten by hides. The smell. The touch. The array of attributes. The wondrous outcomes when leather is crafted into receptacles by hand. We're excited to create products featuring multitudes of compartments and numerous options to wear and hold.
Rachelle Dendle Crerar is ATA's founder, and creative director since the brand's inception in 2009. Adoring receptacles, she aims to deliver effortless multifunctional organisation.
Upon graduating from East Sydney Fashion School, she started working for leading Australian accessories company Mimco, where she spent seven years as Senior Creative. In 2009, Dendle Crerar decided to take her passion for leather goods into her own hands. Years working with masters ensured she instinctively understood that leather vessels (bags) need to marry function and form, striking an emotional chord at the same time. The balance is delicate.
ATA History. Starting the brand with 12 distinct shapes, in the belief that every woman prefers a different bag shape over another, the brand has matured with the accessories landscape in recent years. Today ATA presents an arresting collection of signature bag and wallet shapes – indispensable carriers.
Every ATA receptacle is hammered by hand or guided through a leather machine by a knowing craftsperson with decades of leather experience. Each finishing process in our happy workshop is lovingly laborious.
2015 saw the introduction of custom-made footwear, ATA Sole. Hand-crafted in the ATA Sydney Workroom - designed, cut and lasted by hand using our imported Italian leathers. We're hands-on and we love it.
Rachelle Dendle Crerar resides with her husband and wee son in Sydney, Australia: surrounded by an explosion of foliage.
